Travel vaccinations

If you’re planning on visiting a destination outside of the UK on your upcoming trip, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the more serious diseases found in other parts of the world.

Every year, UK travellers become infected with diseases which could have been prevented with adequate vaccinations before departure from the UK. In some countries, vaccinations are an entry requirement, so it’s important to find out what you may need before you travel.

You can find out which you may need for your chosen holiday destination on the Boots Travel Vaccinations website.

Some examples may include:

  • Hepatitis
  • Cholera
  • Diptheria
  • Rabies
  • Tetanus
  • Typhoid
  • Polio
  • Malaria
  • Encephalitis
  • Yellow Fever
  • Meningitis

Here, you can enter the countries you will be visiting and find out prices. When in store, one of our specially trained travel health Pharmacists will be able to provide you with advice and information on vaccinations based on your plans or itinerary.

The Boots Vaccinations service is suitable for adults and children aged 5 years and over. Some vaccinations may be required several weeks before you leave the UK. Vaccinations should only be undertaken following a full consultation with your Boots Pharmacist, including details of your medical history and planned activities. Before departure, all travellers should ensure that they are up to date with the routine NHS childhood vaccinations, e.g diphtheria, tetanus and polio (DTP) and measles, mumps and rubella (MMR). Travellers not sure of their vaccination history should check with their GP.
